National Inclusion Week

September 2024

National Inclusion Week – founded by Inclusive Employers – is a week dedicated to celebrating inclusion and to raise awareness for organisations to take action to create inclusive workplaces. At Step Change Outsourcing, we are committed to delivering our services in a supportive and inclusive manner. As we approach national inclusion week, we reflect on equality, diversity and inclusion within our company.

The theme for National Inclusion Week 2024 is ‘Impact Matters’. Each one of us holds the potential to make a profound and positive impact. This powerful message centres around understanding, identifying, and measuring impact on marginalised groups and taking actions that make for genuine, sustainable change that matters. At SCO, we believe everyone should feel respected, understood, and valued. We understand that inclusive and supportive environments can help unlock a person’s full potential. Ideas from our people are always encouraged and supported to the best of our abilities – to support this we launched our Colleague Suggestion Scheme. This scheme provides 2-way dialogue to ensure everyone feels included, heard, and respected.

One of our core principles is making a place for everyone at our table. Underpinning this is our ambition to make SCO one of the best places to work in our area. We are committed to having a diverse team irrespective of age; disability; gender reassignment; marriage and civil partnership; pregnancy and maternity; race; religion and belief; sex; sexual orientation or socio-economic background.

To provide extra support to our teammates, everyone in our organisation has access to our Employee Assistance Programme, which provides confidential support for our colleagues in and outside of the workplace.

Regular communication with our employees and an annual review of the equality, diversity, and inclusion of our workplace, ensures we keep working towards and fulfilling our objective – to provide a supportive workplace that fosters creativity and employee engagement which enables people of any gender, race, sexual orientation, or disability to feel included and equal.
