At SCO, we’re committed to helping every employee understand their career pathways and encouraging them to shape their own future. For teammates who aspire to step into a sales leadership role within our business, we have designed a Covering Team Leader (CTL) course. It has been carefully curated to equip our future leaders with the essential skills required, such as coaching, situational leadership and delivering effective feedback.

Many of our colleagues have completed the CTL course and successfully progressed into Team Leader roles. One standout example is Alfie, who completed the programme in July 2024 and described it as both ‘enjoyable’ and ‘insightful’. Throughout the course, he developed a deeper understanding of what it means to proactively lead and bring out the best in a team.

With encouragement from his Team Leader and the Sales Operations Director, Alfie put his new skills into practice and by March 2025 he proudly stepped into a full time Team Leader position. Since then, he’s thrived in the role and says he’s now focused on progressing through the levels of a Team Leader.

Another standout success story is Andreea. Not only did she gain valuable insights into leadership, but she also took part in our job-shadowing programme, spending time with the Training team to deepen her understanding of learning and development. One of her proudest achievements as a Covering Team Leader was managing a six-week campaign of new employees, an experience that significantly strengthened her confidence and leadership skills. Her dedication and growth were later recognised when she successfully secured a full-time Team Leader position within SCO.
