Giving back to our communities is something we’re incredibly passionate about at SCO – throughout this month, our team have been proud to support a number of charitable initiatives, raising funds for important causes while bringing colleagues together across the business.

At SCO, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is an important part of who we are – We continually review and develop our CSR approach to ensure we are making a meaningful impact in our local communities. This includes supporting causes such as local hospitals and food banks, alongside a range of employee-led initiatives that reflect what matters most to our teams and wider community.

Following feedback from our recent eNPS survey, it was clear that our teams wanted even more opportunities to get involved in giving back to the local community. As a result, we are continuing to expand our CSR activity, including the introduction of dedicated ‘Charity Champions’ across the business to help drive initiatives, support local causes, and encourage wider colleague involvement.

Recently, we’ve had the privilege of supporting charities that hold personal significance for many of our teammates, including Dementia Care Services at East and North Herts Hospitals Charity and Mind, the mental health charity.

To mark World Baking Day and Dementia Awareness Week, we hosted a charity bake sale in support of Dementia Care Services. Alongside this, we organised a series of fun fundraising competitions to support Mind, which saw fantastic engagement from teams across the business.

Thanks to the generosity and enthusiasm of our colleagues getting involved. We’re proud of what has been achieved so far this year and look forward to building on this momentum over the coming months.
